Most common door repair calls
- Sticking or rubbing doors — reset hinges, shim jambs, trim strike plate
- Failed weatherstripping — pull and replace with Therma-Tru Q-Lon foam-core
- Broken hinges or sagging doors — re-set hinge pockets, replace hinges
- Cracked glass inserts — glass insert swap, typically within a week
- Non-latching doors — strike plate alignment, latch adjustment
- Dented steel doors — assessment for repair vs replace
We do not rebuild or refinish solid wood doors — that is specialty trim work we refer out. Everything else, we handle.
Honest advice
If the door is under 15 years old and the issue is hardware or weatherstripping, repair is usually the right call — $200 to $500 for most service visits. If the door is older than 20 years, has accumulated multiple issues, or shows visible weather damage, replacement is almost always the better long-term investment. We will tell you which category you're in at the first visit.
